What you need to become an Exchange Student
Going on Exchange is a big deal, and it is important that you meet some basic eligibility criteria to ensure you are ready to experience a new culture, accept and adapt to changes and move out of your comfort zone.
To be certain you are ready to become a SCCE Exchange Student you need to meet the below criteria:
Student Exchange Eligibility Criteria
European Programs (excluding Nordic countries) : Between 14* – 18 years old
Nordic Programs (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden)** : Between 15 – 18 years old
UK and Ireland : Between 15 – 18 years old
USA and Canada : Between 15 – 18 years old
Japan and China : Between 15 – 18 years old
New Zealand : Between 15 – 18 years old
Reunion Island : Between 14* – 18 years old
Minimum ‘C’ grade average and above for the last three years. Students must not be failing subjects.
- Good health, physical and mental
- Still at school with definite intentions to finish Year 12
- Capable or mature enough to cope with cultural differences
*Acceptance of students under the age of 15 years, will be determined by SCCE and its overseas partners based on the students level of maturity.
**Nordic Countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden)
August Programs (Semester and Year) – Students must turn 16 in the calendar year (by 31st December)
January Programs (Semester and Year) – Students must turn 17 in the calendar year (by 31st December)
If students are traveling on an EU passport, the above rules do not apply.
