Experience your world > Denmark

Denmark is rightly known as the land of fairy-tales and castles. Danes are noted for being some of the most welcoming people in the world and their keen interests in sport and the outdoors will be of common value with Australians. Their straight--forward style and mature direct approach to life makes for relationships that are based on trust and shared family activities.

The Danish school system is renowned for its traditional excellence and classic teaching methods. Museums and excursions provide a balance to the abundance of language and cultural learning that forms the basis for acquired knowledge.

Denmark offers students a palette of opportunity for learning the culture of this country made up of sea-bound land and islands. Whether leisure time is spent enjoying crafts, or sailing, students who go on a S.C.C.E. exchange program to Denmark can hope to come back with further knowledge in these areas, together with gained confidence, sense of independence and a new found knowledge of Danish culture and language. As with all S.C.C.E. participants, students can also expect to form solid friendships and possess vivid memories that will last a lifetime.

I remain in regular contact with my host family with e-mails, letters phone calls, birthday cards, and presents. I visited Denmark again and spent Christmas with my host family.

Claire Henning from Coorparoo QLD to Hvidovre, Denmark

After years of study following his exchange program, Khyle is currently a veterinarian in N.Z. where he recently married another veterinarian. His Danish host family and Danish friends flew to N.Z. for the wedding. Khyle had been Best Man for his host brother’s wedding in Denmark; that honeymoon was in Australia.
