2009 Scholarship Winners
Southern Cross Cultural Exchange would like to thank all entrants to its 2009 Scholarship, which once again proved to be both extremely popular and competitive. S.C.C.E. was thrilled to receive entries from all Australian States and Territories.
The seemingly simple question 'Why I should win a Southern Cross Cultural Exchange scholarship" provided students with the chance to describe their passion for education, their love of diversity as well as their own abilities to enhance the opportunities granted through student exchange. It was noted by the judges that all students described a love of the language they were learning, which augers well for the continued success of teaching modern languages in Australian schools.
The 2009 Scholarship awarded two students $4000 towards their program fee, and four students $2000 towards their program fee.
The successful scholars in 2009 were:
Emma Lindenburg - Mt Eliza Secondary College - Germany
Gabrielle McNeice- Balwyn High School - France
